The ESP8266 is a low-cost wifi module that can be used to give the SPIKE Prime access to your wifi network. This enables the SPIKE to connect to the internet and opens up the ability to bridge together IoT with LEGO Robotics.

Follow the steps below to set up the ESP8266 up with SPIKE Prime. Make sure you have also set up the SPIKE as described on the home page.

• I. Soldering the ESP8266

• II. Connect the ESP8266 to your computer

• III. Install the MicroPython firmware onto the ESP8266

• IV. Upload ESPClient.py on the ESP8266

• V. Connect ESP8266 to SPIKE
